How We Work

Meals and desserts are prepared in a production kitchen. The kitchen staff cook off the multi-portion product in line with orders placed for each school. The meals are then loaded into pre-heated specialist hot boxes.

Gate Ventures drivers pick up the hot boxes with the meals and deliver the food to the schools. After lunch time service, the kitchen staff pack up all the dirty dining equipment and hot boxes. They are then collected by the Gate Ventures driver and returned to the production kitchen, ready to be cleaned for the next day.

Our drivers are often asked to do extra errands within their routes – cookery club equipment, ingredients and even staff members can be transferred as well as the school meals!
